Skoda Auto India has launched today the New Octavia at an event in New Delhi. 2017 Skoda Octavia comes in three engine and transmission options and in eight trims of Ambition, Style and Style Plus. The price of new Octavia starts at Rs. 15.49 lakhs and goes upto 22.89 lakhs of top -end diesel variant which are ex-showroom prices applicable across India. The New Octavia will be available in four elegant colour options – Quartz Grey, Brilliant Silver, Candy White and Magic Black.
The new Octavia has strong chiseled hood, massive elegant front butterfly grille with a distinctive all LED lighting unit. The newly developed full Quadra LED headlights come with CrystalGlo LED Daytime Running Lights. The side profile of the vehicle has horizontal and sharply cut tornado lines which makes it look smarter. Adding to the elegant exterior are the newly introduced rear LED lights. The redesigned rear bumper with its subtle contours gives it an impressive look.
On the entertainment front, this car has new 8 inch colour touch screen display with glass design and supports MirrorLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also has eight speakers available with the Amundsen infotainment unit. It also offers connectivity solutions along with BossConnect through Skoda Media Command App integrated into the Amundsen navigation system for control functions like Radio, Playing Music from an external data storage (SD card or USB) and Volume control. In addition, SD Card Reader, USB, AUX-IN, Apple Devices Connectivity comes standard across all variants. It comes with two USB charging ports in the rear.
On the safety front, the new Octavia comes with Hands free Parking feature which makes parking in tight spots much easier during both parallel and perpendicular parking. AFS (Adaptive Front light System) is automatically activated by the light sensors which switch the headlights on in low light conditions. With the addition of Cornering Fog Lamps night drives will become safer.
Dual airbags in the front and sides comes as standard. The Style plus trim gets an additional set of side and curtain airbags in front and rear too. Additional safety features include Safety Seat Belt Signal (audio) driver and passenger and iBuzz Fatigue Alert.
The new Octavia has 590 Liters of boot space. In total, it offers 1580 Liters of luggage space with rear seatback folded down (60:40) which is best in the segment.
The new Octavia has three engine options –1.4-litre petrol, 1.8-litre petrol, and a 2.0 litre diesel engine with a choice of manual and automatic (DSG) transmission setups. The manual transmission has a 6-speed whereas the automatic transmission offers a 7-speed DSG with the petrol engine option and a 6-speed set-up DSG with the diesel engine option.
