After launching 4G services in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula earlier this month, the leading service provider Airtel has now chosen its next destination in Punjab. Airtel has introduced today its 4G services in Ludhiana, which is industrial city of Punjab and is considered to be the hub of woolen export. With this launch, Ludhiana becomes the 5th city in the country and 2nd in Punjab to have 4G services to experience the fastest ever internet service.
The 4G services will be available on dongles, Wi-Fi CPEs (Customer Premise Equipment/ routers) and 4G compatible phones such as Xolo LT 900 and LG G2 (model D802T) apart from the iPhone 5S (models A1530& A1518) and 5C (models A1529 & A1516).
With the arrival of 4G technology, the customers can now stream high definition video with zero buffering, and this will enable them to downloading 10 movies in less than 30 minutes. They can also connect multiple devices without any experience constraint. Customers can now get connected to the fastest ever internet service anywhere, anytime on either their mobile phone on iPhone 5s/5c or on dongles or on Wi-Fi with the home broadband solution of CPEs.
According to Airtel, the users of iPhone 5s or iPhone 5c can start their mobile 4G experience right away by upgrading to a USIM (Universal SIM) / 4G SIM and selecting a plan/pack of their choice from an affordable range of offers. While the USIM shall come free with the purchase of dongle or CPE, it shall come at a nominal cost of Rs 49/- for mobile users, the dongles are priced at Rs. 1500/-, the CPE is priced at Rs 2500/-. Customers can select from a host of affordable 4G packs or plans. A special pack of Rs. 999/- (for postpaid – mobiles, dongles and CPEs) and Rs. 995/- (for prepaid- mobiles only) have also been introduced for heavy data user which will offer 10 GB of 4G data. For postpaid mobile customers, the plans will start as low as Rs. 100/-
