BlackBerry has announced the release of an update for BlackBerry Messenger( BBM) for Android and iOS platforms, that brings the Find Friends feature.
The latest BBM update on Android and iOS smartphones gets the Find Friends feature , which will enable to detect which contacts in your smartphone’s contact list are already using BBM, and allow you to quickly send them an invite to join your BBM contact list. Moreover, those contacts that don’t yet have BBM, you can invite them to download the app with an email or SMS invite.
Jeff Gadway, head of product and brand marketing for BBM has written on official blog post, “We know how important it is for you to connect with your closest friends, family and colleagues. With this update, we’ve made it easier to find and invite them quickly and easily. You’re always in control of your contact lists.”
He has further mentioned in his post that the app update may take over 24 hours to appear on your device.
The BBM is the most popular networking app and enable users to exchange texts,pictures, voice notes with friends /known people, and also offers group chat. It is very easy process to get signed for using this app for free. The users are required to sign-in with a BlackBerry ID following which a PIN is generated and given to them. The users can add friends by sharing their PIN with friends via SMS, email and social networks in addition to QR codes.
If you recall, BBM was huge hit when it was launched on Android version 4.0 or higher and iOS platforms and over 20 million users downloaded it within the first week of its release on these platforms. BBM will also be rolled out this month, on the lower-end Android devices that are running on Gingerbread version 2.3.3+.
