To prevent the tussle between the brick- and-mortar stores and e-commerce, Blaupunkt India has revoked the warranty of its products sold online via predatory discounts and offers. Blaupunkt, the maker of quality car infotainment system provides professional installation for giving trouble free performance and good sound quality. However, this installation is currently unavailable on online sales compelling the company to revoke warranty on the same.
However, in this era of online selling, which is spreading very fast, a branded company like Blaupunkt can not ignore the importance of e-commerce business in India. Blaupunkt has decided to launch a new range of products especially designed for the online channel. This range would be featuring a ‘Do it Yourself’ installation for the products, thus providing the unmatchable Blaupunkt sound experience. The current product range which needs professional installation will therefore not be covered under warranty if purchased online.
Commenting on this development, Mr. Pankaj Jagwani, Director, Blaupunkt India said, “The e-commerce space is a growing market, however we do not believe in hampering the customer experience just because the products are purchased online. We would thus be launching a range exclusive to the online channel, promising nothing less than the unmatchable Blaupunkt experience.”
