Google PixeL 3a for Rs. 39,999 and Pixel 3 XL Launched for Rs. 44,999

 

At an event in US, Google has launched today their mid-range smartphones – Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3XL priced at Rs. 39,999 and Rs. 44,999 respectively. These phones come in two colors of Just Black and Clearly White. These phones can be pre-booked on flipkart from 8th May and the phones will be available for purchase on 15th May 2019.

Both the phones have almost same specifications except difference in display size, battery and weight.

Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3 XL have polycarbonate body with Dual-tone design. Google Pixel 3a comes with 5.6″ FHD+ (2220 x 1080) OLED display with 441 ppi and an aspecct ratio of 18.5:9. On the other hand, the Pixel 3 XL sports a 6.0 inch FHD+ (2160 x 1080) OLED display at 402 ppi with an aspect ratio of 18:9. Both the displays have Always-on Display which enables you to see the time and date as well as icons for
your notifications. If a notification comes in, it will show up for a few seconds before collapsing into a notification icon. The display of these phones have protection of Dragon Trail.

Both the phones are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 octa-core processor (2.0GHz + 1.7GHz, 64Bit) with Adreno 615. Both the phones come with 4GB LPDDR4x RAM and 64GGB of internal storage. The Pixel 3a phone is packed with 3000mAh battery with 18W fast charge whereas the Pixel 3 XL comes with 3700mAh battery with 18W fast charge.

On the imaging front, these phones are armed with 12.2MP Dual-Pixel Sony IMX363 sensor withF/1.8 aperture, 76° field of view, 1/2.55″ Sensor Size and 1.4um pixel width. The rear camera has features of dual pixel phase detection and Optical + electronic image stabilization and comes with various modes such as Night Sight, Portrait Mode, Motion Auto Focus (Off by Default), Super Res Zoom and HDR+. For selfies, these phones have 8MP front shooter with 1.12um pixel width, f/2.0 aperture and 84° field of view.

Both the phones have Pixel Imprint – back-mounted fingerprint sensor for fast unlocking and incorporates Stereo speakers (1 front firing, 1 bottom firing), 2 microphones with
noise suppression. These phones run on stock Android 9.0 Pie OS. These phones are protected against new threats due to three years of security and operating system updates. They also come with the custom-built Titan M chip to help protect your most sensitive data.

Both the phones come with Google Lens packed with new functionality. With Lens,
you can search what you see to find similar clothing and home decor, copy and translate text, and identify landmarks, plants, and animals—all in real-time, right from the camera. These phones also incorporate Active Edge , which is an easy way to get help from your Google Assistant. In addition to saying “Hey Google” or “Ok Google,” long-pressing on the Home button or tapping on the Assistant image on the right of the Quick Search Bar, you can just squeeze the sides of your phone to get started with your Assistant. This works even if you use a case with your phone.

For connectivity, these phones offer options of 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 2.4 + 5GHz 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0 + LE, NFC, USB-C port and Google Cast etc. The Pixel 3a weighs 147gm whereas the Pixel 3 XL has weight of 167gm. These phones come with 3 months subscription of YouTube Music Premium. These phones also feature eSIM without needing a SIM card. eSIM on Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL are supported on Airtel and Reliance Jio, and are also available on Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.
