Following on the footsteps of industry leader Samsung, Taiwan based HTC has announced today mini version of its highly successful flagship HTC One smartphone. This smartphone is named HTC One Mini. This trend of coming out with mini and other variants of the flagship device was started by Korean giant Samsung. Samsung has so far come out with various versions of its Galaxy S4 like S4 Mini,S4 Zoom, S4 water and dust proof etc.
HTC One Mini will come with majority of features which the premier HTC One carries including Blinkfeed, Zoe and Ultrapixel camera. HTC One Mini has a 4.3-inch screen with1280x720p resolution and 341ppi pixel density compared to 4.7-inch full HD 1080p display with 468 ppi of HTC One. It runs Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), with HTC Sense 5.0 user interface superimposed on it. The HTC One Mini is powered by a 1.4GHz dual-core processor alongside 1GBRAM, and 16GB internal storage with no microSD card support.It has a 4 megapixel UltraPixel camera with LED flash on the back, and a 1.9 megapixel front camera. The phone will be packed with a 1,800mAh Li-Polymer battery, and comes withBoomSound speakers and Beats Audio technology for sound enhancement.
Lookwise, the HTC One Mini looks almost like its older sibling except that the dimesion of this smartphone are little bit smaller due to its shorter screen size.
Available in Glacial Silver and Stealth Black, the HTC One Mini has a unibody design. This smartphone will be launched in select markets in August, followed by a global rollout in September. There is no word about the pricing of this phone by the company and when this smartphone will hit retail shelves of India.
HTC has faced logistics problems with almost all the smartphones and hope this time when they start shipping the HTC One Mini, they have sufficient stock in their warehouse to meet the demands of various markets.
The HTC One Mini will give tough competition to Samsung’s Galaxy S4 Mini and Google Nexus 4 in India provided it is competitively priced for very price-sensitive Indian market.
