Huawei Launches Honor 6 Plus ( Rs. 26,499 ) & Honor 4X ( Rs 10,499 )

Huawei, the leading Chinese brand in smartphones, has launched their flagship and midrange smartphones today in India at an event in New Delhi. The premium Honor 6 Plus is priced at Rs. 26,499 and mid-range Honor 4X has a price tag of Rs. 10,499. Both these devices will be sold exclusively by Flipkart, with whom Huawei had entered into an agreement last year to sell their Honor series of smartphones.

The Honor 6 Plus will be available from April, whereas the Honor 4X will go on sale at 2PM on 30th March and the registration for the same is available now on flipkart.com and Huawei’s own site hihonor.com which will remain open till midnight of 29th March.

huawei_honor_6_plus_whiteThe USP of Honor 6 Plus smartphone is its 8 megapixel front as well as rear camera. The company claims that it is “the world’s first bionic parallel dual lens camera, and offers great image quality.”

The dual parallel 8M rear camera allows the fastest focus within 0.1 seconds and depth recording for panoramic imaging. Moreover, Honor 6 Plus has a SONY 8MP BSI sensor front camera which will be a ”delight for every selfie lover” as it is equipped with 10-level auto face enhancement and a special feature called ‘Panoramic Selfie.’

The Honor 6 Plus has powerful camera and is capable of clicking in the night also. With Vision Camera technology and the help of its dual camera lens, the amount of light-in and the photosensitive area will be twice the light-in captured by single-lens; this will give clearer and precise results under low-light giving it a HDR effect.

Huawei claimed at the launch event that Honor 6 Plus will reproduce better images clicked with its camera in daylight or in night compared to iPhone 6.

The other features of Honor 6 Plus are also impressive. It features a 5.5-inch full-HD IPS display (1080×1920 pixels). It is powered by an octa-core Kirin 925 processor with Mali T628 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded upto 128GB via microSD card.This smartphone also offers Cat. 6 LTE connectivity at 300Mbps.

The other impressive feature of Honor 6 Plus is its massive 3600mAh battery. It runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS, which is layered by the company’s own Emotion UI 3.0.

For connectivity, the Honor 6 Plus provides support for 3G, Wi-Fi, 4G LTE ( for both TD LTE and FDD LTE bands), Bluetooth and GPS.

On the other hand, the mid-range Honor 4X sports a 5.5-inch IPS HD (720×1280 pixels) display, and is driven by a 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 MSM8916 processor, with an Adreno 306 GPU. It comes with 2GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage, which can be expanded upto 32GB via microSD card. It also runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS with layer of Emotion UI 3.0.

The Honor 4X  is equipped with a Sony 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture. It also houses a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It is packed with a 3000mAh battery, which is claimed to deliver up to 72 hours of battery life with regular usage. This smartphone will be available in Red, Blue and Golden colours.

For connectivity, the Honor 4X offers options of 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/ A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and USB 2.0. The other unique feature of this smartphone is that it also has Dual-Sim supporting capability with each Sim supporting all Indian 4G bands.

At the launch event, Huawei also  promised monthly OTA updates for the two smartphones for six months, followed by quarterly OTA updates.

Huawei also announced that both the devices will come with a free screen replacement offer that is valid for the first month. These smrtphones will also come with ‘app gifts’ from Hungama, Yatra and other services.
