0

Of late, InFocus has brought out many devices in the Indian market which has received very good response for its design and performance. To catch up with the latest trend of Dual Camera and long lasting battery, InFocus has launched Turbo 5 Plus smartphone which is attractively priced. Let us see how it performs and is it really a value for money?

On the design front, InFocus Turbo 5 Plus has metal unibody design and very fine quality metal has been used. Its curve on the back and soft metal gives good grip in your hand. Under no circumstances, this phone will slip from your hand. The Dual rear cameras are placed on top left hand side along with Dual Tone LED flash. InFocus branding can be seen below the cameras. Power button and volume rockers are on the right hand side whereas the Dual SIM slots is on the left hand side. This is hybrid SIM Slot i.e you can use two SIMS or one SIM and one Micro SD card. USB charging port is at the bottom and there are two speakers on the left and right hand size whereas only one speaker is effective and two have been given for symmetry purpose only.

Fingerprint sensor has been embedded on the home button which is very fast and responds quickly. Navigation keys have been given at the bottom of the display itself. This phone is little bit bulky having weight of 174gms. Overall, this phone has solid look and despite its affordable price, it looks good.

The Turbo 5 Plus sports a 5.5 inch HD Display with 2.5D Curved glass and resolution of 720×1280, PPI 268. Despite the fact that it has HD display still it produces bright and vibrant colors, viewing angles are fine and sun visibility surprisingly is also very good. You will enjoy watching multi-media content on this display.

This phone gets its strength from MediaTek MT6750, ARM9, 1.5Ghz, 8x Cortex-A53 processor which is mated with 3GB DDR3 RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be enhanced to 64GB with the help of microSD card. As far as the performance is concened, I have observed no lags when using few apps at the same time or frame drop even when you are playing games. But it slows down when you use it for heavy graphics games and this is made up by its powerful battery of 4850mAh. Its battery lasts for full day and more even if you play lot of games, use social channels quite frequently and see lot of YouTube or other media content. That is one of the strengths of this phone. On the downside, the battery takes lot of time to get fully charged from zero to full but the saving grace is that you don’t have to do this exercise frequently. During my usage of the phone, fingerprint sensor has never failed me to unlocks the phone in split second.

On the imaging front, this phone is mounted with two cameras at the back. It has 13MP primary camera with f /2.0 Aperture, Auto Focus & secondary camera of 5MP with f/2.2 Aperture with Dual LED Flash Light, Digital Zoom. The camera comes with Panorama, Background and HDR modes and these features have been nicely implemented on the camea app. Images captured on this camera especially in proper lights come out with good details and contrast. These images are ok for sharing on your social media.

We are enclosing few images captured in daylight:

For selfies, this phone is packed with 5MP Front facing camera with f/2.4 Aperture with which you can snap good selfies.

This phone runs on Android 7.0 os and offers connectivity options of 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and FM. Call quality and audio output on this phone is also very good. I have used this phone on 4G with Airtel and Reliance JIO and it catches signal very well even in basements.

To sum up, this phone has sturdy body and is packed with mid-range of features. What impressed me the most was powerful 4850mAh battery which provides stellar performance on this phone. You won’t require powerbank if you have this phone in your hand. This phone has Dual camera set-up which produces good results.

This phone is priced Rs. 8,999 and is available exclusively on Amazon.in. This is the first smartphone with Dual Rear cameras and powerful battery under Rs. 10,000 category. Incase, you want to buy a durable phone with good battery back-up then you can certainly consider this phone. This is good value for money device.
