Microsoft Lumia 950 & 950 X Coming To India In December & Surface Pro 4 In January

At the Future Unleashed event in Mumbai to celebrate 25 years of Microsoft operations in India, the giant technology company based in US announced that it will be launching its latest Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950X running on the latest Windows 10 Mobile OS. Microsoft also announced that it will be bringing its Surface Pro 4 tablet in India in the month of January, 2016. These devices were unveiled by Microsoft in the month of October in US.

All the three devices to be launched in India in the coming months are state of the art flagship devices with powerful and innovative features, which shows that Microsoft is very much interested to pursue with its hardware business.

The Lumia 950 smartphone features a 5.2-inch QHD display (2560 x 1440 pixels resolution) with a pixel density of 564ppi. It runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core chipset. The Lumia 950 XL features a 5.7 inch QHD display (2560 x 1440 pixels resolution) with a pixel density of 518ppi. It is driven by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC.

Both the smartphones come with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage extendable to 2TB. Both the phones are equipped with a 20MP rear camera with 4K video recording capability and 5th generation Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS). These handsets alo houses megapixela 5MP front camera. Both the handsets come with dedicated camera buttons.

Both the devices are liquid cooled to prevent heating which is the bane of many Android devices. They also come with adaptive antenna technology to give the best possible reception no matter how the users pick-up the phone.

Both Lumia 950 and 950XL comes with USB Type-C reversible port for charging and output. These phones can charge 50 percent of your battery in just 30 minutes. The Lumia 950XL is packed with 3340 mAh battery whereas the Lumia 950 is fuelled by a 3000mAh battery.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 sports a 12.3-inch (2736×1824 pixel) with PixelTouch display and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for protection. It comes with Surface Pen, the new name for Stylus. The Surface Pen is quite powerful as it comes with eraser feature, Cortana integration, and capable of detecting 1,024 points of pressure. The Surface Pen has battery which is claimed to last for one year.

The Surface Pro is driven by 6th Gen Intel Core M3, i5, or i7 processsors and come with 4GB, 8GB and 16GB RAM variants and has maximum massive 1TB of SSD storage. This device is quite slim having thickness of just 8.4mm. It is equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera, and also has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It also comes with fingerprint reader, four USB 3.0 ports and an Ethernet port.

For ease of typing, the Surface Pro 4 can be used with Type Cover with a glass trackpad, which has a more spacious keys on keyboard. This cover will eliminate the need of a laptop as claimed by the company.
