Nokia 7.1 with 5.84 inch FHD+ 19:9 PureDisplay, ZEISS Optics Dual Cameras, Announced

HMD Global has announced Nokia 7.1 mid-range Android One smartphone. This phone runs Android Oreo 8.1 but will be updated to the latest Android Pie 9.0.

This phone flaunts a 5.84 inch (2244 x 1080 pixels) Full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 aspect ratio and protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. This is the first smartphone to come with PureDisplay screen technology for HDR cinematic quality. It supports HDR10 and is claimed to deliver higher contrast (1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio) and greater clarity; revealing the detail in both light and dark areas as well as vibrant colours. The display adapts to outdoors in bright sunlight or in a dimly lit room and will automatically adjust brightness and contrast to ambient lighting conditions.

This phone is powered by 1.8GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 636 processor with Adreno 509 GPU. It comes in two variants of 3GB LPPDDR4x RAM with 32GB ROM and 4GB LPPDDR4x RAM with 64GB of internal storage, which can be further extended upto 400GB with microSD card. This is Dual SIM phone and is packed with 3060mAh battery with USB Type-C fast charging.

On the optics front, this phone is armed with ZEISS Optics 12MP/5MP dual primary cameras with two phase detection for fast accurate autofocus and capturing shots in both bright and low light conditions. The primary 12MP (RGB) camera has dual LED flash, f/1.8 aperture and secondary 5MP (Monochrome) camera comes with f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, it is equipped with 8MP AI enhanced front facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, 84-degree FOV.

For security, this phone also incorporates face recognition feature and fingerprint sensor. It offers connectivity options of Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5, NFCC, GPS + GLONASS and USB Type-C 2.0.

The Nokia 7.1 comes in Gloss Midnight Blue and Gloss Steel and is available in selected European markets in two RAM/ROM variants – 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB. The Nokia 7.1 will retail between €299 and €349 depending on the markets. This phone will be launched in India on 11th October.
