Panasonic has been very successful with its Eluga series of smartphones in India. To make this series more user friendly and innovative, Panasonic has plunged into virtual assistance domain and incorpoated its own developed Arbo Artificial Intelligence feature in the recently launched Eluga Ray X and Eluga Ray Max smartphones. In this post, we shall discuss in details the salient features of Eluga Rax X smartphone.
As stated above, the USP of new Eluga Ray X is its Arbo virtual assistance capabilities. What is Arbo? Arbo is an app that studies your usage habits and offers suggestions accordingly. Basically, it is virtual personal assistant which analyzes user’s behavior based on time and location. It automatically display and make suggestions on screen such as frequently contacted phone numbers and SMS users and apps used. It studies minutely usage habits of particular apps and will give you a reminder when to use that particular app and call particular number and to accomplish other tasks based on your appointments or plans.
Currently, this phone do not have the AI Assistant Arbo installed, due to the ongoing testing. It will be available on the phone via an OTA update within a few weeks.
Besides virtual assistance feature, the Eluga Ray X also comes loaded with other features which makes it quite interesting proposition to consider. On the design front, this phone has unibody metal design which is sturdy and looks quite impressive. This phone comes in two colors of Gold and Space Grey. Despite the fact that this phone has display of 5.5 inch yet you can hold and operate with one hand. This phone has rounded edges and curved rear panels which offers good grip. Volume rockers and power button have been given on the right side of the handset and Dual SIM card and MicroSD card trays are placed underneath the rear panel which is removable.
The charging port is at the bottom and the 3.5mm headphone jack is given on top. Fingerprint scanner is embedded on the home button and navigation keys appear on the display. The Eluga Ray X has thickness of 10.5 mm.
This phone sports a 5.5-inch HD (1280 × 720 pixels) Display. The display of this phone gives you good viewing angles and you can enjoy browsing and watching multi media content on this screen. On the performancea aspect, this phone gets its strength from 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 64-bit processor with Mali-T720 GPU. This processor is good enogh for multi tasking and switching between the apps. You can play games also on this phone for shorter duration. This phone comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be extended upto 64GB via microSD card.
The other significant feature of this phone is its massive 4000mAh battery which can last for more than one day depending upon your usage. This phone runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0 OS which fortunately provide stock Android experience without any lags. Unlike other Chinese vendors, Panasonic has not imposed any layer on this OS.
On the photographic front, this phone has been mounted with13MP rear camera with LED Flash. This camera comes with various modes such as Professional, Panorama, HDR, Night and Sports etc. I have captured few images with Normal mode and the results are quite impressive which you can see below. For selfies and video calling, this phone is equipped with 5MP front-facing camera with LED Flash. For enhancing the selfie quality, the camera has Face Beauty mode.
This phone offers connectivity options of 4G VoLTE support, OTG support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, FM and GPS. Call quality ( both incoming and outgoing ) on this phone is very good and it also produces good audio output.
To sum up, the Eluga Ray X has signature feature of Arbo Artifical Intelligence which will soon be available on it. It offers good value for money. This phone is nicely packaged and is priced Rs. 8,999. It will go on sale exclusively on Flipkart.com from 17th April.
