Ra.One – Hindi Film Or Video Game? (Movie Review)

Yesterday, I went to see much hyped Shah Rukh Khan starrer Ra.One. Normally, I am not in the habit of criticising any Hindi movie on any forum as most of the movies are not worth evaluating, except very few, but I would like to ascertain from Shahrukh Khan what he had in mind when he made this movie.

In the first part, Shahrukh plays the role of video game developer and behaves as if a kid is at work. His performance is totally insane and illogical and one fail to understand why he is behaving like mentally retarded child. After the transmission, when the scene shifts to Mumbai, there is no logic at all. In today’s time when there is so much security arrangements at airports, there is long drawn out artificial scenes when G.One fights with taxi drivers and lot of knives and shots are exchanged and there is no trace of any security personnels. Normally, in Hindi movies it is shown that police arrive when the fighting is over but here the police does not come even after fighting is over.

There is no logic in the movie and he wants to show that people watching the movie has left their brain and thinking power at home. Even my kids could not digest this foolishness.

Shahrukh Khan has worked earlier also in a movie called: Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, in which also he acted like a foolish person but still that movie was far better than the current movie. Now, he has spent 150 crores rupees to make this movie, which does not have any meaning or logic. Still, he will make money but he could have given wholesome entertainment by investing so much money.

Ra.One look more than a video game than a movie. But even video game has some logic to play with.

I have wasted hard earned money and advise my valuable readers to see this movie only if you are die hard fan of Shahrukh Khan and do not care  how he acts. Otherwise do not waste your precious money. I also fail to understand how movie critics have given ratings of 2/5 and 3 out of five to this movie. Probably, they are overawed by Shahrukh’s brand equity or were persuaded to give favourable comments.

Sorry Shahrukh, never expected this type of treatment from you. All the best for your future endeavours and for God’s sake, do not make sequel of this movie as you have made alive G.One in the end.
