Samsung Electronics is very aggressive to remain on top of tablet segment also besides smartphone segment, and is constantly trying to increase its portfolio in all the segments. Today, Samsung announced the launch of Galaxy Tab 620 built on Android Honeycomb 3.2 platform with 1.2 GHz dual core processor at a price of Rs 30,250.
“The Galaxy Tab 620 with its powerful processor, next generation OS, stylish design and intelligent value added applications make this a faster, lighter and smarter device”, Samsung India’s Country Head for Mobile and IT, Ranjit Yadav said in a statement.
It has HSPA+ technology which can enable user to download movies and songs, surf the web and play online games while on the move with data speeds of 21 Mbs, the statement said. “It takes only 390 seconds to download a 1GB movie and a mere 0.57 seconds to download a 1.5MB photo”, the statement said.
Beside 3G enabled connectivity, it has option to connect with Wi-Fi which can increases download and streaming speeds by two folds, it added. Weighing 345 gm, the tablet is one of the lightest in its category. At 9.96 mm, its sleek design makes it convenient to carry.
With integrated communication service, users can aggregate contacts, calendar and email with instant messaging and social networking service (SNS). Contacts can be synched with online portals and social networks and manage schedules and events from multiple accounts.
Samsung’s latest launch of Galaxy Tab 620 will make tablet market more crowded. But Samsung wants to take full advantage of its brand equity after huge success of its Galaxy Tablet 750 & 730. In the coming days, more and more tablets will be launched by various vendors. Wait and Watch!
