The Galaxy Beam, which is Samsung’s new projector smartphone, and which was announced in MWC in Barcelona in February, is coming to India very shortly. This phone is available online for pre-order on the Samsung India e-store for Rs. 29,900. You are required to pay the full amount at the time of pre-order.
The Galaxy Beam is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor. The phone has a 4.0″ inch (480×800) TFT display, 5 megapixel autofocus rear camera with flash and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, internal memory of 8 GB, which is expandable up to 32 GB using a microSD card and 768 MB RAM.
With advancement of mobile technology, many devices like hig-end camera and projector can be integrated in a smartphone and Galaxy Beam is such an example. The Samsung Galaxy Beam’s 15 lumens projector allows users to display and share multimedia content anywhere on a large luminous projector screen – walls, ceilings or improvised flat surfaces.
Smartphone devices are now multi-tasking devices and besides its core functions of mobile communication, the manufacturers are equipping these devices with various features and in the coming days and months, we can expect more and more applications integrated in smartphones and that day is not far off, when smartphones will make many devices redundant or of little use.
