Sony India has launched today its latest flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z2, which was unveiled at MWC in Barcelona in February. The Xperia Z2 is priced at Rs. 49,990 and will be available in India from 12th May in White,Black and Purple colors. Sony is offering SmartBand SWR 10 worth Rs. 5,900, which was also introduced today,for free with Xperia Z2 smartphone. This offer is available for limited period.
The Sony Xperia Z2 features a 5.2-inch (1080×1920 pixel) Triluminos display with X-Reality engine, and is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with an Adreno 330 GPU coupled with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage, which can be expanded upto 64 GB via microSD card. This smartphone is fuelled with a 3200mAh battery with enhancement of Sony’s Battery STAMINA Mode, which is claimed to deliver up to 19 hours of talk time, standby time of 740hours, continuous music playback time of 120 hours. This smartphone is also dust and water resistant.
The Xperia Z2 is equipped with a 20.7-megapixel rear camera with Exmor RS sensor which is capable of 4K (Ultra-HD) video recording, and a 2.2-megapixel rear camera. The Xperia Z2 camera has 24 apps which include Timeshift video, Creative effect, Background defocus AR ( augmented reality) effect besides Info-eye, Timeshift burst etc.
The Xperia Z2 has amazing sound quality with stereo speaker output and Sony’s digital noise cancelling technology. For connectivity, it supports 4G LTE, HSPA+, Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi hotspot functionality, DLNA, GPS with A-GPS, Bluetooth v4.0, NFC, FM radio with RDS, and has a 3.5mm audio jack.
The Xperia Z2 owners will have access to an exclusive content offer that includes six blockbuster movies from Sony Pictures, including Amazing Spiderman, Captain Phillips, Elysium, which can be downloaded via Xperia Lounge application. Xperia Z2 users can also stream and download Michael Jackson’s new album Xscape via the Sony Music Jive application which is pre-installed in Xperia Z2.
Sony India is also offering one full-HD cricket game, 3 months Bigflix subscription, and a Sony original case worth Rs. 2,990, for free. Sony has also made arrangements with Vodafone to offer 2GB free data download for the first two months of purchase of Xperia Z2.
Sony SmartBand SWR10 introduced today at MRP of Rs. 5,990 is a wrist band that lets you keep track of your movements, communications and entertainment. It comes with Life log android app that records your physical, social and entertainment activities. This app enable you to see your activities, where you went, what pictures you took and how you have been communicating with your world.
