Sony India has launched today its latest flagship smartphones Xperia Z3 and its compact version known as Xperia Z3 Compact. Sony Xperia Z3 is priced at Rs. 51,990 and the Xperia Z3 Compact has a price tag of Rs. 44,990. The Sony Xperia Z3 will be available in White, Black, Copper, and Silver Green color variants. Both the smartphones are now available across India at over 10,000 retail outlets.These smartphones alongwith other devices were unveiled by Sony at the sidelines of IFA in Berlin.
Running on Android 4.4 KitKat OS, The Xperia Z3 features a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) TRILUMINOS display, and is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, coupled with 3GB RAM and 16GB of built-in storage, extendable to 128GB via microSD card.
The Xperia Z3 comes with improved water and dust resistance with IP65/68 certification, and supports Dual-Sim. It is packed with powerful 3100mAh battery with STAMINA Mode, which turns off background functions when you’re not using them to help extend your battery life. The battery of this smartphone is said to last for two days usuage.
For connectivity, it has options of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi with hotspot, 3G, 4G LTE, GPS/ A-GPS, Glonass, Micro-USB, DLNA, and NFC. The Xperia Z3 comes with a 7.3 mm super slim rounded aluminium frame and weighs just 152 grams.
This smartphone is equipped with 20.7-megapixel autofocus rear camera with the new 25mm wide-angle Sony G Lens. It has capability of 4K (Ultra-HD) video recording, and also houses 2.2-megapixel front camera.
The Xperia Z3 camera comes with very useful feaures such as Face In for capturing any event and your reaction to it at the same time. You can add scribbles and animations to pictures with AR fun. You can create a movie from your photos and videos with Movie creator and add sound to a photo with Sound Photo.
The Xperia Z3 is the first smartphone to have PS4 Remote Play, which allows users to play their PS4 games onto the Xperia Z3 display screen over the home Wi-Fi network.
On the other hand,the Xperia Z3 Compact is mini version of the flagship device Xperia Z3 and comes with 4.6-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) Triluminos display, and is powered by the same processor which drives the Xperia Z3. It is equipped with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM, which is extendable to 128GB via micro SD card. For running this smartphone, it has been provided with 2600mAh battery with STAMINA Mode.
It has same rear and front camera specifications and features. The Xperia Z3 compact also incorporates the PS4 Remote Play for playing PS4 games onto the Xperia Z3 comapct screen over Wi-Fi network.
The Xperia Z3 comapct has glass form factor and has thickness of 8.6 mm. This smartphone weighs only 129 grams.
The Sony Xperia Z3 Compact will be available in White, Black, Orange and Green color variants.

We are expanding our distribution to 10,000 retail touch-points including 250 exclusive Xperia Stores in FY14.”
