If you are planning to buy a premium Android phone below Rs. 50,000 then you have various options to consider flagship phones of Sony, Samsung, LG and HTC etc. Here, we shall discuss about prominent features of Sony Xperia Z5 phone, which we have used for quite sometimes and found these features quite interesting:

Design:

The Z5 has a  smooth metal frame and its back also looks like metal but it is frosted matte glass. The look of the phone is quite impressive and the back is litttle bit slippery but not a big issue because keeping in view of the fact that it enhnces its beauty quotient also. Xperia branding can be found on the lower side of the left hand side and at the extreme lower side on the back panel. Power buttton, volume rocker and camera launching button have been given on the right side. SIM slot has been provided on the top left hand side of the phone. From the design perspective, I can give this phone 8 out of 10 marks.

Fingerprint Scanner

Fingerprint sensor has become a norm now not only in flagship but even in mid-segment and low-end smartphones being released now. Unlike Samsung Galaxy S6, this phone has fingerprint scanner integrated in the power button. It is very simple procedure to register for the fingerprint sensor and I have tried more than 100 times to unlock th fingerprint sensor and it has worked very fast and never failed me. I have demonstrated this aspect of fingerprint sensor in my below appended video also. The placement of fingerprint sensor on the power button is excellent and natural position to use. We can give 10 out of 10 for fingerprint sensor of this phone.

Camera

Sony is known for its camera sensors and how can they disappoint on this aspect?

The significant USP of this phone is its rear camera of 23 MP Sony Exmor RS with features of Hybrid Auto Focus 0.03 sec, 5 x Clear Image Zoom, Up to 8x Digital Zoom and Wide-angle G Lens (24 mm). This camera also enhances your imaging prowesss as it has feature of clicking images even in low-light and difficult lighting conditions. You can capture clearer and better photos at night or in darker surroundings with less noise and blur. The other useful feature of this camera is its capability of capturing the images of moving objects so that you do not miss out the important sequence or action. This phone houses 5 MP front camera Sony Exmor R for Full HD video and capturing beautiful and sharp selfies.

Although there is no optical image stabilization feature on the camera but enough of this shortcomin has been taken care of by software video stabilization.

We have clicked some images in the night which have turned out quite good and which are reproduced below:

Similarly, in good daylight the images clicked look almost original with perfect details and contrast. Some of the results are reproduced below:

Dustproof and Waterproof

Sony is the first company in the world to inroduce dustproof and waterproof features on its Xperia phones and this legacy has been brought on Xperia Z5 also. This phone is also dustproof and waterproof with an IP rating of IP68 and this phone can remain submerged in one metre of water. But it is advisable to follow Sony’s instructions on this aspect and one should avoid carrying this phone while swimmig or exposing it in heavy rains. This feature is good for accidental fall in water and carrying it in ligher rains.

Display

The Xperia Z5 features a 5.2 inch FHD 1080p (1920×1080) Triluminos display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection. This display offers excellent viewing angles and the images appear nice and crisp. Sony Xperia Z5 pass the test of display with flying colors.

Battery

Despite the fact that nowadays it has become a trend to pack the phones with battery of 3000mAh upwards to address the issues of frequent charging but this phone gets its juice from 2900mAh battery. Thankfully, this phone has  many battery saving modes such as Stamina Mode and Ultra Stamina Mode which enhances the battery life and you can easily use this phone for full day without plugging the charger. This is not one of the best feature of this phone but also not a low point. Had Sony packed battery of 3000mAh upwards in this phone then this could have been one of the plus features.

Performance

The Xperia Z5 is drvien by  Snapdragon 810 processor paired with Adreno 430 GPU, 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage which is extendable further with microSD card upto 200GB. It offers standard connectivity options of Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, Bluetooth 4.1, 4G LTE, and NFC. Unfortunately, this phone also heats up with excesive usage and this credit goes to its Snapdragon processor. Otherwise, there is no problem in this phone as far as playing resourceful games and switching between the apps, which is quite smooth affair.

Final Word

If you are looking for elegant phone with smooth performance with good fingerprint scanner, excellent camera, elegant design, waterproof and dustproof feature then this is the phone to have a serious look. This phone was launched at Rs. 52,000 in India and currently, it is available at Rs. 44,000 from Flipkart in India. At this price, this phone can be a deal if you consder above features.
