Spice Mobility, India’s leading Mobile Technology Retailer with a chain of 650+ stores across India, today launched the first two AndroidLand stores in India. The two Android branded stores are located in Koramangala, Bangalore and at The Great India Place Mall, Noida. In these stores, only Android devices of all brands will be available. One can find widest range of Android devices of leading brands like Samsung,LG, Sony,Lenovo etc and Indian brands like Karbonn, Micromax etc,.
These stores are state-of-the art experience zone for Android devices, services and accessories. The concept for the design of the stores is provided by Google. But Google has not shared any revenue with Spice Mobility for opening these stores. Earlier, it was reported in the media that Google and Spice will be jointly opening these stores. But that is not the case as clairified by Mr. Dilip Modi,Group CEO, Spice Global.
Spread across an area of 2300 sq ft in Bangalore and 900 sq ft in Noida, AndroidLand is a flagship store by Spice Mobility that puts experience first. It has a wide variety of interactive live demo units that customers can play with to experience the Android platform. Spice Android Experience Specialists present at the Store have undergone comprehensive training to ensure they can help showcase the best of what the Android platform has to offer.

The store is designed in such a way that inspires customers to discover the fun world of Android. Customers are encouraged to interact with the displays and devices and to take photographs with the Android robots.
Android choice showcase – A wide variety of live Android smartphones and tablets are available that customers can play with along with a selection of accessories.
Google Play Zone – An exclusive area showcasing the most popular apps and games from Google Play. Customers can choose to search and download multiple applications from Google Play on the spot.
Expert advice – AndroidLand store staff are not merely sales persons, but they have been specially trained on the Android platform and will be able to help customers select the device that’s right for them and then set-up, customize and provide apps recommendations.
Free Wi-Fi – Free Wi-Fi in store for visitors to browse the Internet from the live units.
Mr. Dilip Modi, Group CEO, Spice Global, informed us that they have plan to open 50 stores across India in one year. When we posed a question whether these new exclusive AndroidLand store will give competition to their existing Spice Mobile store, he informed us that they have also plan to introduce AndroidLand experience in mini format in their existing stores and gradually, they may convert all of their existing stores to AndroidLand format of stores depending upon the success of new format of stores.
The AndroidLand store opened today in Noida attracted lot of media attention, and we were there to cover the event. We saw huge crowd over there, which we have not observed earlier in new stores opening. This speaks volumes about customers’s interest in Android smartphones and tablets.
