This phablet, which runs on the latest Android KitKat 4.4 OS, will be avaialble in Korea in late February, but LG has not revealed its plans for global roll-out. This device will also be showcased at the upcoming MWC in Barcelona.
The LG G Pro 2 sports a 5.9 inch full HD display with 1080×1920 pixels, with an extra slim bezel of 3.3mm, which LG claims is an industry-leading screen-to-frame ratio of 77.2 percent. The LG G Pro 2 has some advanced camera features including its capability to record slow motion HD video at 120FPS and it can also record in 4K. The other feature of the camera is a flash for selfie that reduces the size of the preview screen and adds a bright white background for more soft lighting in self-portrait mode. The camera is capable of taking up to 20 continuous shots and automatically edits them to create a video of the captured images. It allows users to select photos from their gallery to create a collage for easy uploading to social network sites.
The LG G PRO 2 is also equipped with high-power 1Watts, Hi-Fi sound speaker system, which LG claims is 30 percent louder than the previous G Pro. This smartphone incorporates a completely unique feature called Knock Code, which makes unlocking and using the G Pro 2 easier and more convenient than ever before. This is advanced version of KnockON feature that was first unveiled last year in the LG G2. Knock Code allows users to power on and unlock their G Pro 2 smartphones in one easy step by tapping their screens using one of 86,367 “knock” combinations.
The LG G Pro 2 has been positioned to give competition to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5, which will be unveiled at MWC on 24th Feb and Apple iPhone 6 which is rumored to come with a 5.5 inch display. LG is getting good response to its LG G2 and G Pro series of smartphones wherever they are available, and they are getting aggresseive to take head-on with world leaders like Samsung and Apple.
