It is the season for new products to enter the Indian smartphone market. Yesterday, Philips debuted in India and launched three smartphones and today Alcatel has launched Alcatel OneTouch Idol X+ in India, which was showcased alongwith other smartphones at MWC in Barcelona in February. This smartphone will be available exclusively on the e-commerce site of Flipkart from 3rd June.
Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ sports a 5-inch ful HD display with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels, and 441 pixels per inch. It comes with a Corning Gorilla Glass 2 screen. The OneTouch Idol X+ is the first smartphone to be powered by a 2GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 chipset with ARM Mali450 GPU, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. The One Touch Idol X+ is equipped with a 13.1-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash, and also has a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. This smartphone supports Dual-SIM(Micro-SIM) and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box.
This smartphone is fuelled by a 2500mAh battery, which is claimed to deliver up to 27 hours of 2G talk time, 650 hours of 2G standby time, and continuous music playback of up to 36 hours.
For connectivity, the Idol X+ supports 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with Direct and DLNA functionality, GPS/ A-GPS, GRPS/ EDGE, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, and stereo FM radio.
This sleek smartphone comes in the brushed metallic frame and is just 8.1mm thin. It weighs 125grams and is available in Spin Black and Spin White colors.
The OneTouch Idol X+ is bundled with Boomband and JBL headphones which will come alongwith the smartphone price of Rs. 16,999. The Boomband is an accessory for the health freaks, which is capable of tracking your sleep, distance and calories burned. It also incorporates a vibrator and LED for noticiations and will give you an alert if there is call on your smartphone. This Boomband is compatible only with Alcatel OneTouch Idol X+ smartphone.
