Samsung has announced the launch of three new smartphones – Samsung Galaxy Star 2, Galaxy Star Advance and Galaxy Ace NXT in India. All the three smartphones run the Android KitKat with Samsung’s proprietary Touch Wiz user interface. With the launch of these new devices, Samsung has expanded its sub-10k category to seven devices.
Samsung Galaxy Star 2 is priced at INR 5,100 and is available in White and Grey colours whereas the Galaxy Star Advance and Galaxy Ace NXT are priced at INR 7,400 respectively, and are available in Black & White colours. Samsung is also offering free data offer of up to 200 MB per month from Vodafone for the first six months.
All the three smartphones support 12 Indian languages including Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Guajarati, Punjabi, Urdu, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Oriya, and Assamese. The consumer has a choice of not only accessing these language apps from Google Play Store but also Samsung’s home-grown Samsung Galaxy Apps store. Apps in 12 languages are also available across various genres ranging from utility, devotion, productivity to horoscope.
The Galaxy Star 2 and Galaxy Star Advance sport a premium leather finish back. To enable users to capture images in low light conditions, the Galaxy Star Advance and Galaxy Ace NXT cameras come with LED flash. There is no front camera on these smartphones.
All the three smartphones are driven by 1 GHz Single-Core processor paired with 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded upto 32GB via micoSD card.
Galaxy Star 2 has 3.5” HVGA (320 x 480) display and comes with a 2MP camera with advanced camera modes. It is packed with a 1300mAh, which is claimed to give upto 12 hours of talk time.The device is a 2G variant that can be complemented with Wi-Fi access for fast web browsing. It also comes with free access to premium games from Gameloft.
Galaxy Star Advance sports a 4.3” WVGA (480 x 800) display and is equipped with 3MP camera. It is packed with 1800mAh battery with the capacity to offer 17 hours of talk time.
Galaxy Ace NX is Samsung’s entry-level 3G phone. It comes with a 4 .0” WVGA (480 x 800) display and a 3MP camera. It is fuelled by a 1500mAh battery having capability to offer 8 hours of talk time.
