The leading Chinese handsets maker, Huawei has announced today ‘My City in Black and White’ photo campaign for photo enthusiasts. This campaign is being organsied to promote smartphone photography and also coincides with upcomig launch of flagship smartphones – Huawei P9 and most probably P9 Plus also which is happening in India on 17th August. These two phones have USP of a Dual 12 megapixel rear camera. The RGB camera on the P9 specializes in capturing color, while the monochrome camera is for capturing black and white images of superior quality.
Huawei wants to highlight the importance of monochrome photography and as per their stipulation, the participants are requiredd to go outdoors and capture the essence of their cities which differentiate their cities from the rest, in black and white color only. Huawei is encouraging monochrome photography as color is noise and to truly capture the essence of something it is essential to go noise free.
It is very simple procedure to particiapte in this contest. The captured black and white photographs can be uploaded across multiple platforms like Facebook, Twitter & Instagram. with the hash-tags #OO and #MyCityInBnW to ensure that their entries are taken into consideration for the contest.
This contest runs from 5th August till 13th August and will be judged by Sumit Dayal, who was named CNN’s Indian Instagrammer of the Year, 2015.
Huawei will reward the lucky winners with 9 passes for an exclusive Huawei Product launch event taking place most probably in New Delhi on 17th August, along with a chance to meet Sumit himself.
