Alongside Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro, Xiaomi has launched today their Mi LED Smart TV 4 55 inch. This TV is the thinnest LED TV in the world. It has slim and frameless display design having thickness of just 4.9mm and provides immersive viewing experience. This TV boasts of 55-inch (3840 x 2160 pixels) 4K HDR display with 178-degree viewing angle and Dolby+DTS Cinema Audio Quality. For protection, Xiaomi has used Corning Iris Glass light guide plate on the display which is claimed to be three times more expensive and five times harder than plastic light guide plates usually found in most other TVs.
On the specifications front, this TV comes with an Amlogic 64-bit quad-core processor with a Mali-T830 GPU, 2GB DDR4 dual-channel RAM and 8GB internal memory. The connectivity options on this TV are Dual Band WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, 3 HDMI ports (including 1 ARC port), 2 USB ports (3.0+2.0), as well as an Ethernet port.
This TV comes with Patch Wall Smart TV OS for the Indian market which brings together more than 15 different content partners, across 12 Indic languages. For providing rich content, Xiaomi has partnered with Hotstar, SunNxt, Voot, flickstree, Sony LIV, Hungama etc. According to Xiaomi, this TV will provide over 500,000 hours of content and 80 percent of which is free content. Moreover, PatchWall is also the first Smart TV OS in the world to intelligently connect to set-top boxes, allowing users to switch to any channel, or specific TV show with just one click.
This TV also comes with Mi Remote which is easy to use with just 11 buttons which is a stark contrast to traditional remotes full of buttons. Mi Remote is also claimed to work across this TV, Set-Top Box and any HDMI device that supports CEC.
This TV will be available at a price of INR 39,999, on 22 February 2018, across Mi.com and Flipkart. It also comes with free 3 months subscription of Sony LIV and Hugama.
