Xiaomi has launched today Mi A2 Android One smartphone in India which was unveiled first in Spain last month. This phone comes with 4GB LPDDR4x RAM with 64GB of internal storage. Xiaomi has announced that they will be launching soon another variant with 6GB LPDDR4x RAM with 128GB storage.
On the specifications front, the Mi A2 sports a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display (2160×1080 pixels) with 18:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved Gorilla glass 5 for protection. This phone is powered by octa-core Snapdragon 660 processor with Adreno 512 GPU and mated with 4GB LPDDR4x RAM with with 64GB (eMMC 5.1) of internal storage. This phone is packed with 3010mAh battery with QuickCharge 4+. But you will have to buy the fast charger as in the box, you will get 5V/2A charger. This phone runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) and will be updated with Android 9.0 (Pie) by the end of this year.
On the optics front, this phone has front and rear cameras with AI integration. It is mounted with vertically stacked dual rear cameras comprising of primary 12MP rear camera with LED flash, f/1.75 aperture, 1.25-micron pixels, Sony IMX486 sensor and 20MP secondary camera with Sony IMX376 sensor with f/1.75 aperture, 2 micron 4 in 1 pixels size. The rear camera has features of PDAF and Dual Tone LED flash. For selfies, this phone is equipped with 20MP front shooter with Sony IMX376 sensor, f/1.75 aperture and soft-LED flash.
Both the front and rear cameras have features of AI Scene Recognition for better photography, AI Portrait, AI Background Bokeh and AI Smart Beauty 4.0.
For security, this phone incorporates fingerprint sensor on the back.This phone offers connectivity options of Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS + GLONASS, IR Sensor and USB Type-C port. This phone has dimensions of 158.7×75.4×7.3mm and weighs 168g.
The Mi A2 with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM is priced Rs. 16,999. It comes in four colors of Black, Gold, Lake Blue and Rose Gold. Pre-order for this phone starts on 9th August on Mi.com and Amazon.in and it will go on weekly sale starting 16th August 2018 from 12:00 Noon across Mi.com, Amazon.in and Mi Home stores. Xiaomi is also offering Rs. 2200 instant cashback in the shape of vouchers and 4.5TB high speed data for Jio users.
