Apple has launched the most economical smartphone for those prospective buyers who cannot afford their regular expensive iPhones. The new iPhone SE announced by Apple has glass and aluminium design and comes in three colors of Black, White and PRODUCT(RED) and three variants of 64GB, 128GB and 256GB variants. The price of this phone starts at Rs. 42,500 for 64GB version, Rs. 47,800 for 128GB storage variant and Rs. 58,300 for the 256GB storage variant.
The new iPhone SE features 4.7 inch Retina HD IPS LCD Display with 1334×750-pixel resolution at 326 ppi, 1,400:1 contrast ratio (typical) having Fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating. The display panel also features Haptic Touch support which is available in the latest iPhone models. This phone is powered by A13 Bionic chip with third generation Neural Engine which is found in the iPhone 11 series of smartphones. The battery on this phone is same as of iPhone 8 and comes with wireless charging with Qi certified charger and also supports fast charging. It is claimed to charge 0 to 50 percent in 30 minutes.
This phone runs on the latest iOS 13 and has fingerprint sensor built into the Home button which has been designed with sapphire crystal for durability. This phone is water and dust proof and can remain in water in maximum depth of 1 metre up to 30 minutes and is having IP67 rating.
In the camera department, the new iPhone SE is equipped with single rear camera of 12MP with f/1.8 aperture with features of Digital zoom up to 5x, Portrait mode with advanced bokeh and Depth Control, OIS, 4K video recording at 24 fps, 30 fps or 60 fps, 1080p HD video recording at 30 fps or 60 fps and 720p HD video recording at 30 fps. For the selfies, this phone has 7MP camera with f/2.2 aperture, portrait mode, 1080p HD video recording at 30 fps, Retina Flash, Auto image stabilisation.
For connectivity, this phone offers options of Dual 4G VoLTE, GPS/GNSS, Digital compass, Wi-Fi, Mobile dataiBeacon micro-location, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, This is Dual SIM (Nano and esim) supporting phone and also incorporates Barometer, Three?axis gyro, Accelerometer, Proximity sensor and Ambient light sensor.
This phone will go on sale in US at starting price of USD 399 for the 64GB version. It is not clear when it will go on sale in India but most probably after the lockdown is lifted.
