India’s popular e-commerce marketplace Flipkart has announced the launch of Scheduled Delivery service for its customers today. This service is currently available in Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata and will be extended in other cities soon. The Scheduled Delivery service enables customers to choose a specific date and time for delivery of their Flipkart order. Customers can choose delivery slots as early as the next day – a feature currently not available with any other e-commerce player in India.
The Scheduled Delivery service, which is free of cost for Flipkart customers, will initially be available for the large appliances category and will get extended to other select categories in due course of time. Flipkart will also be offering soon its customers installation service of large appliances along with delivery during the pre-selected slots.
Spaking about the launch of this service, Rahul Chari, VP – Supply Chain Engineering, Flipkart, said – “Flipkart has always been in the forefront of offering unique and innovative supply chain benefits that take e-commerce to a different level. Schedule Delivery as a feature, serves to enhance the online shopping experience, especially in metros where time constraints are a huge bottleneck for customers. While this is especially true of large appliances – we intend to extend this benefit to other categories soon.”

Of late, Flipkart has introduced various delivery options for the consumers to get their ordered items very fast and notable among them are Flipkart’s Same Day Guarantee Delivery, Flipkart’s Sunday In-a-Day Guarantee Delivery, Flipkart’s In-a-Day Guarantee Delivery, Flipkart First, and Flipkart’s Try and Buy Service( pilot in Bangalore).
