Xiaomi Launches Redmi 8A with 5000mAh Battery, 6.22-inch Dot Notch HD+ Display, Starting at Rs. 6499

Xiaomi has launched today yet another budget smartphone in India known as Redmi 8A. The USP of this phone is its massive 5000mAh battery with USB Type-C 18W fast charging support in budget segment. This phone comes in two variants of 2GB+32GB priced at INR 6,499 and the 3GB+32GB variant will be available for INR 6,999 across Mi.com and Flipkart starting 29th September. It will be available at Mi Homes from 30th September onwards, and will soon be available across all other offline stores. This phone will be available in three colors of Midnight Black, Sunset Red and Ocean Blue.

The Redmi 8A sports a 6.22 inch HD+ Dot Notch display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 5. This phone is splash resistant as it comes with P2i nano-coating. This phone is powered by Octa-core 2.0GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor combined with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage or alternatively 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage which can be further extended upto 512GB via microsSD card. It comes with Dual SIM + dedicated microSD slot. This phone is packed with massive 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support on the Type-C port (10W fast charger inside the box).

For imaging, this phone is equipped with 12MP Sony IMX363 sensor at the rear with Dual Pixel Autofocus and an aperture of f/1.8. On the front, it sports an 8MP selfie camera. Both the front and rear cameras are capable of taking AI Portrait mode shots.

For security, this phone has face unlock feature but does not have fingerprint sensor. It offers connectivity options of 3.5mm audio jack, Wireless FM Radio, USB Type-C, Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS + GLONASS and Bluetooth 4.2.
