At an event in New Delhi, Xiaomi has launched today two new smartphones – Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro. Both the phones come with Full-HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) display with 2.5D curved glass and 18:9 aspect ratio. These phones are packed with 4000 mAh battery with 5V/2A charging.
The Redmi Note 5 flaunts a 5.99-inch Full-HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) display with 2.5D curved glass and 18:9 aspect ratio with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 Protection. It is powered by 2GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 14nm processor mated with Adreno 506 GPU. This phone comes with two variants – 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage expandable upto 128GB with microSD card. This phone runs on Android 7.1.2 (Nougat) with MIUI 9 custom layer of Xiaomi.
On the optics front, this phone is equipped with 12MP rear camera with LED Flash, 1.25um pixel size and f/2.2 aperture. For selfies, this phone has 5MP front-facing camera with selfie LED flash and f/2.0 aperture.
This phone has Hybrid Dual SIM slots and also incorporates fingerprint sensor on the back and IR Blaster. For connectivity, this phone offers options of 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS.
Redmi Note 5 is priced at INR 9,999 for the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant and INR 11,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. Available in Black, Gold, Rose Gold, Blue color variants, Redmi Note 5 will go on sale on Flipkart and Mi.com on 22 February 2018 at 12 noon. Post this, it will be made available every Wednesday.
