Panasonic India has launched today four new ruggedized mobile computing devices, including one Windows 8 & Android tablets, for the Indian enterprise market. These products are targeted for different industry segments like automotive, aviation, telecom, utility, retail, manufacturing, logistics etc.
Panasonic launched the Toughpad FZ-G1, which the company claims as the world’s first Windows 8 enterprise-grade rugged tablet. The tablet sports s a 10.1-inch screen with a 1920×1200 pixels resolution, that offers support for 10-finger multitouch. It is powered by an Intel Core i5 processor of clock speed up to 2.9GHz. It’s water and dust resistant and drop shock resistant up to 120cm. The Toughpad FZ-G1 is priced at Rs. 1,75,000, and comes with 3-year warranty with business class support.
Pansonic also launched the Toughpad JT-B1, a fully rugged Android tablet that sports a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels. It is powered by a 1.5GHz Texas Instruments OMAP4460 processor and runs Android 4.0. The tablet is 150cm shock resistant, and water and dust resistant. It also comes with an anti-glare film on its screen. The Toughpad JT-B1 has been priced at Rs. 69,000. This device also comes with 3-year warranty with business class support.

Panasonic also unveiled the JT-H300 HT, priced at Rs. 60,000 and JT-H320HT, priced at Rs. 40,000, rugged handheld computers, which are based on Panasonic’s “TSA (Total Shock Absorbing) design” developed with its over 30 years’ experience in the logistics industry. The Panasonic rugged handheld computers can withstand tough working conditions to enable business to be conducted without interruption. Compact and light-weight, these handheld computers have been designed for easy one-handed operation. Panasonic’s power management technology “Marathon PM” makes a long battery life of approx. 20 hours, possible.
