Despite various rumors that South Korean smartphones maker LG Electrnocis would be unveiling LG G Pro 2 at the upcoming MWC in Barcelona later this month, the company has different plans about launching this new smartphone. LG has sent out media invites to the press for an event on 13th February, which will take place at the company’s headquarters LG Twin Towers in Yeouido, Seoul, where LG G Pro 2 is expected to be launched.
LG has not mentioned in its invite about the smartphone to be unveiled, but from the invite, which reads “Knock-knock knockin’ on”, which highlights the Knock-On feature of G Pro 2’s predecessor G2, which allows consumers to unlock the phone by “knocking” on the screen. It can be assumed that it is LG’s marketing strategy to convey that this feature will continue “on” with the G line of phones. Moreover, only two days ago LG has promised to provide Knock on feature on its all mid-ranged L-II series smartphones and obviously will be standard feature of the high-end smartphone like LG G Pro 2. Furthermore, considering earlier reports of the LG G Pro 2 launching in February, we can expect to see this smartphone at the 13th Feb event.
According to ZedNet Korea website, LG G Pro 2 will be showcased at MWC also and its next version LG G3 is expected to be unveiled in the second half of this year.
As far as specifications of LG G Pro 2 are concerned, there are many specualtions about the same. LG G Pro 2 is expected to have 6 inch full HD display with 1080×1920 pixels. It may be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. This smartphone could be equipped with 13MP rear camera and 2.1 or 5MP front camera, and may run on the latest Android KitKat OS.
There could be little bit variants in the hardware details, but one thing is almost certain that we are going to witness this new device from the stable of LG on 13th Feb. Wait till 13th and we shall share further details with our readers.
