Panasonic India which has been teasing its upcoming P81 smartphone for quite sometimes, is set to be launched in India tomorrow in the price range of Rs. 19,000 as per some media reports. It is speculated that the Panasonic P81 will come with following features:
- 5.5 inches display with 720×1280 pixels resolution
- 1.7GHZ Octa-Core processor
- Dual Sim support
- 1GB RAM
- 8GB internal storage expandable to 32GB via microSD card
- 13 MP rear camera
- 2MP front camera
- Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS with a layer of Panasonic’s Play Life UI.
- 2500mAh battery
As per the latest teaser, the Panasonic P81 will have metal and leatherette finish and will come equipped with feature like Multi Play which will enable users to run multiple apps. For connectivity, the P81 will support 3G, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS, Bluetooth and FM radio.
To make the offer attractive for the buyers of P81, Panasonic is expected to throw in some freebies with the phone including a flip cover with screen guard, and may come pre-loaded with popular apps such as Evernote, Hungama, Readwhere, etc. with free digital subscriptions for few months.
Currently, Panasonic is selling entry-level and mid-level smartphones such as P11, P31, P51, T11, T21 and T31. Panasonic does not have much market share in India and will have to come out with reasonably good device to compete with mid-range smartphones of Samsung, Sony, LG and Moto X and budget smartphones of Indian handsets makers.
