Chinese hansets maker Lenovo has announced today that it will start rolling out the Android 4.4 KitKat update to its Vibe X and Vibe Z smartphones in a phased manner starting from the last week of May.
Lenovo has also slashed the price of the Vibe X to INR 22, 999/-, which was launched in India at Rs. 25,999/- in the month of December, 2013. This phone is available for Rs. 20,000 at the flipkart.com.
The Vibe X sports a 5-inch full-HD display, having a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels and a pixel density of 440ppi. The display of this smartphone has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. This smartphone is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core CPU, coupled with 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The Lenovo Vibe X is equipped with a 13-megapixel auto-focus rear-facing camera with a back-illuminated sensor and an LED flash. The phone also comes with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with a wide-angle 84 degree lens. For connectivity options, it has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AGPS and 3G. The Vibe X is packed with a 2,000mAh battery. Vibe X is incredibly thin at 6.9 mm and weights just 121 grams.
According to Lenovo, the update supports better application compatibility along with further security enhancements and bug fixes, and the UI gets a new look with lesser icons and a flawless incoming call interface. Efficient auto focus and white balance capabilities ensure better camera experience with clearer, sharper, vividly rich and vibrant images. The upgrade also boosts Lenovo power manager for improved battery utilization. The initial tests show approximately 15-20% enhancement in its performance.
On the other hand the Vibe Z is flagshp smartphone and is driven by a blazingly fast, power-efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. The KitKat 4.4 update will equip Vibe Z with better 4k video playback compatibility. The update will also boost the Quad-core CPU for enhanced UI transitions and multi-sensory user experience, and also makes the process of adding widgets to the home screen easy.
The multi-window mode on Vibe Z now lets you open and work on multiple apps simultaneously and resize them on the screen better than before. Also, enhanced notification access, wireless printing capabilities, updated theme centre, automatic profile changer and expanded accessibility APIs are some of the key upgrades that comes to Vibe Z with this update.
Just to remind you, the Vibe Z has powerful features. The Vibe Z sports a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920×1080) wide angle viewing touchscreen display, and is powered by a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. This is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) 4G LTE smartphone that runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS, and is the first Lenovo smartphone to have 4G LTE connectivity feature. The Vibe Z is equipped with a 13 MP rear camera with BSI sensor and dual LED flash, and large f/1.8 aperture lens. It also comes with a 5MP front camera with 84° degree wide viewing angle. The Vibe Z is packed with an integrated and powerful 3000 mAh battery.
The Vibe Z was launched at Rs. 35,999 in February and currently, this is available for Rs. 30,349 at flipkart.
I never knew VibeX did not have expandable memory. I boycott comapnies that do that in their phones. I am running out of options. 😛
