At an event in US, Microsoft has launched today slew of new devices running on its recently announced Windows 10 mobile OS. The new devices announced by Microsoft are -Lumia 950, 950 XL, Lumia 550 smartphone, Surface Pro 4 tablet, Surface Book laptop and Microsoft Band 2.
The Microsoft Lumia 950 starts from $549while the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL starts at $649 and will be available from 26th October. Microsoft also announced the Lumia 550, which will be available in December at $139. Its details were not revealed by the company.
The Lumia 950 features a 5.2-inch QHD display (2560 x 1440 pixels resolution) with a pixel density of 564ppi. It runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core chipset. The Lumia 950 XL features a 5.7 inch QHD display (2560 x 1440 pixels resolution) with a pixel density of 518ppi. It is driven by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC.
Both the smartphones come with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage extendable to 2TB. Both the phones are equipped with a 20MP rear camera with 4K video recording capability and 5th generation Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS). These handsets alo houses megapixela 5MP front camera. Both the handsets come with dedicated camera buttons.
Both the devices are liquid cooled to prevent heating which is the bane of many Android devices. They also come with adaptive antenna technology to give the best possible reception no matter how the users pick-up the phone.
Both Lumia 950 and 950XL comes with USB Type-C reversible port for charging and output. These phones can charge 50 percent of your battery in just 30 minutes. The Lumia 950XL is packed with 3340 mAh battery whereas the Lumia 950 is fuelled by a 3000mAh battery.
Microsoft has added many software features in the newly announced Lumia 950 and 950XL. These devices will support Windows Hello biometric system that enables it to unlock it just by looking at your face. With Windows Continuum, you can connect these devices to a Microsoft Display Dock and use it with an external monitor, a keyboard, and a mouse, and you can start using Lumia 950 or 950XL as a PC.
Both the Lumia 950 and 950XL support Dual-SIM and 4G LTE connectivity. These are the first two Lumia devices which will run on recently announced Windows 10 Mobile OS.
