Redesigned Microsoft Band 2 Launched At $249

Besides other devices, Microsoft has also announced its updated and redesigned fitness tracker – Microsoft Band 2 at $249. This new Band is less bulky and now comes with curved 320×128 pixel AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection compared to flat display of earlier version. This Band is made of metal, rubber and glass.

The other features incorporated in the updated Microsoft Band 2 is barometer for elevation and stair-climbing readings, flexible strap with no rigidity, 48 hours battery life with new battery charging mechanism.

This Band comes with Optical heart rate sensor, 3-axis accelerometer, Gyrometer, GPS, Ambient light sensor, Skin temperature sensor, UV sensor and Capacitive sensor. With a continuous optical heart rate monitor, this band tracks your heart rate, steps, stairs climbed, calorie burnt, exercise, and sleep quality. With this Band, you can reach your fitness goals with tailored tracking whether running, biking, golfing, or working out.

This Band will support Windows Phone 8.1 upwards, Android and iOS devices with Bluetooth. This will alos sync wirelessly with the Microsoft Health app for viewing information on sleep, workouts and activity data.

The Microsoft Band 2 is also integated with Cortana for dictating  responses, previewing emails, getting call alerts, receiving text messages, and for getting social updates. The users can also reply to text messages via this Band.

The Microsoft Band 2 will be available from 30th October at $249.
