Honor, which is sub-brand of Huawei is set to launch its latest smartphone – Honor 5X, which was unveiled in China in the month of October last year. The company has started sending media invites for an event on 28th January in India which state that Faster, Better, Stronger device is coming on 28th.
The USP of this phone is its fingerprint scanner which is placed behind the rear camera and comes with the company’s Fingerprint 2.0 technology, which is claimed to unlock the phone in less than 0.5 seconds. The other highlight is that this phone is packed with 3000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support to solve the problem of frequent charging.
Honor 5X comes in two variants of 2GB and 3GB RAM and rest of the features of both the variants are same.
Honor 5X sports a 5.5 inch full HD IPS display with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels. Underr the hood is Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processsir (four Cortex-A53 cores at 1.7GHz + four Cortex-A53 cores at 1.2GHz) paired with 2GB/3GB RAM and Adreno 405 GPU. This phone has internal storage of 16GB which can be further enhanced upto 128GB via microSD card.
On the photographic front, the Honor 5X has been provided with 13 MP rear camera with dual-LED flash. This camera incorporates f/2.0 aperture, 28mm wide-angle lens, 5P lens, and Blue Glass IR filter. For selfie lovers, this phone houses 5MP camera on the front with f/2.2 aperture, 22mm wide-angle, 4P Lens and Blue Glass filter.
This phone supports 4G LTE networks and also offers other connectivity options of Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, USB 2.0, GPS etc. This phone supports Dual-SIM and runs on Android Lollipop 5.1 OS with Emotion UI 3.1 superimposed on it.
In China, this phone was launched at CNY 999 and CNY 1,399 for 2GB and 3GB variants respectively, which work out to approximately Rs. 10,500 and Rs. 14,500 respectively. In India, this phone is expected to be in the range of Rs. 13000 to Rs. 16,000 for the 2GB and 3GB variants.
