Asus of Taiwan has announced the launch of ZenFone Zoom S smartphone with Dual 12MP cameras with 2.3X true optical zoom and 12X total zoom.
The ZenFone Zoom S is mounted with dual-camera system consising of two cameras: main camera with an f/1.7-aperture, 25mm wide-angle main lens paired to a 12MP SONY IMX362 sensor with large 1.4µm pixels (1/2.55in sensor size) and secondary 12MP zoom camera with an instant 2.3X true optical zoom and 12X of total zoom. This setup is claimed to ensures sharp focus on subjects at any distance and ASUS SuperPixel Camera is capable of shooting photos quickly and clearly in night-time or in low-light environments. The main SuperPixel Camera is ideal for shooting general subjects and macro shots as close as 10cm, while the optical-zoom camera is excellent for distant subjects.The camera also features Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) for photos and 4K videos.
For selfies, this phone is equipped with 13MP PixelMaster 3.0 camera, f/2.0 aperture, SONY IMX214 sensor and five-element Largan lens.
This phone sports a 5.5 inch Full HD 1920 x 1080 AMOLED display, 500 nits brightness with 2.5D contoured Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for protection against scratches. This phone gets its strength from Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, 14nm Octa-core processor clocked at 2.0 GHz with Adreno 506 GPU. It come with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It has fingerprint sensor at the back that can unlock the device in 360 degrees, supports 5 finger recognition and besides unlocking, you can receive calls directly by swiping the registered finger directly at the lock screen.
ZenFone Zoom S features a full metal body construction and has thickness of 7.9mm and weighs 170 grams. Its body has a finely sand-blasted finish for a more refined and a premium grip.
