At an event in Mumbai, Oppo has launched today its latest smartphone OPPO F9 PRO. Highlights of this phone are its VOOC Flash Charge which is claimed to offer 5 minute charge for 2 hours of talk, Waterdrop Screen, Gradient Color Design and 25MP selfie camera. This phone is priced Rs. 23,990 and will be available in gradient colors of- Sunrise Red, Twilight Blue and Starry Purple. It will go on sale from 31st August 2018 across all offline and online partners and the pre- order will begin on 21st August 2018 exclusively on Flipkart.
On the specifications front, Oppo F9 Pro sports a 6.3inch (2280 x 1080 pixels) Full HD+ display with 19:9 aspect ratio. The screen occupies almost all of F9 Pro front except for a small droplet at the top due to which it is called the “Waterdrop Screen”, inspired by a water drop.
It is powered by an Octa Core MediaTek Helio P60 processor with ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. It has 6GB RAM with 64GB of internal storage with provision for extension to 256GB with microSD card. This is Dual SIM phone and has dedicated slot for microSD card. This phone is packed with 3500mAh battery with VOOC Flash charge for fast charging and AI battery management. This phone runs on Oppo’s ColorOS 5.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. It offers connectivity options of Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS.
According to Oppo, VOOC Flash Charge applies a low voltage fast charging mechanism to deliver lightning quick charging. With its standardized configuration 5V/4A, it can achieve a charging speed 4 times faster than conventional 5V/1A charging technology. Moreover, VOOC has five layers of protection from the charging adapter to smartphone, including low temperature and voltage, which ensures a fast and safe charge.
For photography, this phone is armed with 25MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, Sony IMX576 sensor and AI Beauty Technology 2.1 which can provide users with up to 8 million different personalized beautification effects. It is mounted with two cameras at the back – 16MP primary camera with LED flash, f/1.85 aperture for low-light photography and secondary 2MP camera for depth of information. The rear cameras are capable of recognising 16 independent and 800 combined scenes by AI Scene Recognition feature.
