OnePlus has annouced today roll out of the latest OS version Android 9.0 Pie to the OnePlus 6. This latest version of Android was made available on September 3 through the Open Beta Program and has now been fully stabilised. With this update, the OnePlus 6 will get the brand-new Android Pie UI, Android P gesture navigation, expanded accent color customizations and many more features.
Android 9 Pie will also have other features of Adaptive Battery technology, which learns how you use your phone, so apps and services you rarely use aren’t a battery drain and you can focus on the apps you care about. This new update will bring New Do Not Disturb (DND) mode with adjustable settings and new gaming mode 3.0 comprising of added text notification mode and notification for 3rd party calls. This roll out will have updated Android security patch level of September 2018.
OnePlus has mentioned in its forum post that OTA update will have a staged rollout. The OTA will be received by a limited number of users today and will have a broader rollout in a few days after making sure there are no critical bugs.
OnePlus is known for bringing latest updates to its devices and probably the first company to be so quick with updates. OnePlus has also conformed that they will be bringing Android P update to the OnePlus 5/5T and OnePlus 3/3T for users to enjoy new features on their devices.
