At an online event, Honor has launched today their first 5G supporting smartphone, Honor 30S. This phone is the first device to be powered by new Kirin 820 5G chipset.
The Honor 30S sports a Full HD+ 6.5-inch 20:9 screen with a resolution of 2400 x 1800, screen brightness of 450 nits, and screen-to-body ratio of 90.3 percent. It is packed with 4000mAh battery and is certified by TUV Rheinland as a standard 40W fast charging product, and can be charged to 70 percent of its battery level in 30 minutes. It comes with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128/256GB of internal storage.
For security, the 30S is equipped with narrow side fingerprint unlock (2.4mm), which doubles as a power button. With fingerprint sensor, it can be unlocked in 0.25s, with a success rate of up to 98 percent as claimed by the company.
For photography, the Honor 30S is equipped with quad-camera module comprising of 64 megapixel main camera with an f/1.8 wide aperture, 8-megapixel optical zoom lens with 3x optical zoom, 5x hybrid zoom, and 20x digital zoom, 8MP 120° wide-angle lens and the 2-megapixel macro lens which supports 4cm macro shooting. The rear camera supports 4K 30fps video shooting, 32X (960 fps@720p) slow-motion, and 4K HD time-lapse shooting. The HONOR 30S also supports AIS five-axis image stabilization for high-quality videos. For selfie, it has 16MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture.
This phone offers connectivity options of 5G SA/NSA, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, USB Type-C, Beidu, GPS and Glonass. This phone runs Android 10 with Magic UI 3.1.1 on top.
The HONOR 30S comes in three colors of Black, Green and Blue. It is priced CNY 2,399 (approx. Rs. 25,400) for the 8GB + 128GB variant and CNY 2,699 (approx. Rs. 28,800) for the 8GB + 256GB model. It will go on sale in China starting 7th April. Keeping in view of very scary situation in other countries, the company has not said anything when this phone will be introduced in global markets including India.
