Motorola has disrupted the Indian flip smartphone market today with the launch of the motorola razr 40 ultra and razr 40, the latest additions to its flagship razr smartphones series.
The razr 40 ultra is powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Mobile Platform, efficient battery, and the large 3.6” pOLED screen (1066 x 1056 | 413ppi) which is fully capable of supporting multiple apps and functions even when it is closed, so users can view more at a glance and access content which matters the most. Users can respond to messages, take a selfie, get directions, play games, listen to music on Spotify and enjoy watching YouTube all on this large external display. The external display comes with 144Hz adaptive refresh rate making switching between apps and scrolling websites quite seamless. This external display comes with peak brightness of 1100nits thus having clear screen visibility even in outdoors. This display has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus Protection ensuring durability for rough usage. This large external display opens up a plethora of use cases for consumers, from content creation to applying makeup or taking quick look before you take a selfie.

On the other hand, Motorola razr 40 has 1.47 inch (194×368 pixels) external QuickView AMOLED display with 60Hz refresh rate, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection with up to 1000 nits brightness. The razr 40 has internal display of 6.9-inch (2640×1080 pixels) FlexView FHD+ pOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate, 10-bit HDR 10+ support and up to 1400 nits brightness.
The razr40 Ultra comes with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB (UFS 3.1) storage whereas the razr 40 comes with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB (UFS 2.2) storage.
The razr 40 Ultra folds completely in half with the top and bottom edges aligning perfectly for a seamless, gapless, ultra-thin and sleek look. Unlike most other flip phones, the razr 40 ultra, does not leave any visible crease on the screen because of its redesigned teardrop hinge. It also comes with the industry’s first dual-axis tracking, which reduces the size of the device, thus making both the razr phones the World’s Slimmest Flippable phone in the industry when flipped close. The design of the razr 40 ultra and razr 40 features a combination of a metal frame with premium vegan leather option on the back making it easy to grip and soft to touch.
The razr 40 ultra and razr 40 come with Flex View technology which offers new ways to interact, capture, and create. The razr 40 ultra is packed with 3800mAH with an ultra-fast 33W TurboPower charger coming in the box and supports wireless charging and the motorla razr 40 comes equipped with a massive 4200mAH battery with 33W In-box charger.
Both the phones run on Android 13 (Assured upgrade to Android 14, 15 and 16 + 4 years of security updates). Both the phones have Side fingerprint reader and Face unlock feature. Both the phones have IP52 Water-repellent design. Both the phones offer connectivity options of Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, USB Type-C, NFC, 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE and Wi-Fi 6E 802.11ax (2.4GHz/5GHz).
The razr 40 Ultra comes in two colors of Infinite Black and Viva Magenta whereas the razr 40 comes in three colors of Sage Green, Vanilla Cream and Summer Lilac.
The motorola razr40 Ultra will be available at a launch price of Rs 89,999 while the Motorola razr40 will be available at a launch price of Rs 59,999. The smartphones will go on sale from 15th July 2023, 12 PM on Amazon, Motorola.in, Reliance Digital and other leading retail stores.
