As reported by us yesterday, Kindle Fire Tablets sales have quadrupled on Black Friday in US, there is another revelation by the retailer in US – Target – that Kindle Fire outsold iPad this ‘Black Friday’. “Kindle Fire was the bestselling tablet in our stores on Black Friday”, said Nik Nayar, vice president of merchandising at Target.
Another retailer – Best Buy were less forthcoming with figures, but equally optimistic and happy, “We knew Kindle Fire and the new E Ink Kindles would be highly desirable gifts this holiday season”, said Wendy Fritz, senior vice president of Computing, Tablets and e-Readers at Best Buy.
The reason for success of Kindle Fire tablet success is its price of US$ 199 compared to Apple iPad which starts at US$499. There is limited segment of people prepared to spend £499 on a tablet computer that many still see as a toy rather than a work tool. Those who were prepared to spend US$ 500 for iPad, have already bought it and now the market is ripe for replacement and Kindle Fire amply fit the bill with its price tag and hence getting huge response from the buyers. It’s a major blow for Apple, whose market share has begun to dwindle.
As reported by us earlier, Amazon is developing 8.9 and 10.1 inches tablets and these are expected to be launched in first quarter of 2012. Apple is also expected to launch its new HD iPad 3, at the same time and this will be head-to-head battle between two giants – Amazon versus Apple.
Ipad is really nice one and it is my favorite one . Now this tablet is becoming nice and with good features. I like to take one now. Thanks for sharing this nice info.
