In response to some reporting in social media space about Airtel’s data breach due to an unauthentic data hacker claiming to have access to Airtel’s data, Airtel has denied these rumors which has no substance. Moreover, the hacker has not been able to provide any proof for his claim and is using this wrongly to tarnish brand image.
We reproduce below the official Airtel statement confirming that the data is secure, and no such breach has occurred:
“There has been a report alleging that Airtel customer data has been compromised. This is nothing short of a desperate attempt to tarnish Airtel’s reputation by vested interests. We have done a thorough investigation and can confirm that there has been no breach whatsoever from Airtel systems.” Airtel Spokesperson
