At the MediaTek Technology Diaries event held on November 15 in New Delhi, OPPO teased the launch of the OPPO Find X8 Series, the first devices in India to feature MediaTek’s latest and powerful Dimensity 9400 chipset. Oppo and MediaTek have collaborated for this series of smartphones, to set a new benchmark in performance, efficiency, and AI-driven innovation.
Speaking at the event, Peter Dohyung Lee, Head of Product Strategy at OPPO, emphasised the significance of this partnership. “OPPO has been bringing the latest technologies to India for the past 10 years, and the upcoming launch of the Find X8 Series marks a significant milestone in our India commitment story,” he said.

The MediaTek Dimensity 9400, built on TSMC’s second-generation 3nm process, introduces a host of innovations. Its second-generation All Big Core design features one Arm Cortex-X925 core clocked at 3.62GHz, paired with 3 Cortex-X4 cores and 4 Cortex-A720 cores. This setup delivers 35% faster single-core performance, 28% faster multi-core performance and 40% more power efficiency than the previous generation Mediatek Dimensity 9300. These advancements translate to smoother multitasking, faster app launches, and seamless performance, whether editing 4K videos or switching between multiple apps.
The MediaTek 12-core ARM Immortalis-G925 GPU transforms the gaming experience with up to 40% faster raytracing performance compared to the previous generation, plus PC-level features with opacity micromaps (OMM) support for realistic effects. The chipset’s powerful GPU also offers a 41% peak performance boost with up to 44% greater efficiencyi, empowering users to game for longer. This power combined with OPPO’s custom cooling system for Find X8 and Find X8 Pro ensures both can playback demanding games while delivering consistent, high frame rates even at maximum graphics settings. For photography enthusiasts, the Find X8 Series integrates MediaTek’s Imagiq 1090 ISP with OPPO’s Hasselblad Master Camera System and its the HyperTone Image Engine. This combination delivers AI-powered zoom for sharper details, improved low-light performance and HDR video, and smoother zoom between the cameras.Additionally, the chipset’s efficiency allows the Find X8 Series to consume 14% less power when recording 4K video at 60fps1. Taking advantage of the Dimensity 9400’s powerful on-device AI capabilities, OPPO has collaborated with MediaTek to integrate Google Gemini Nano’s language intelligence within Magic Compose. In Google Messages, this feature creates context-aware replies in a range of tones across multiple languages, saving time and helping hit the right notes, with reply styles including Excited, Chill, Lyrical, Formal, Short, and even Shakespeare.
