Good news for Nokia fans! After unveiling Nokia Lumia 900 smartphone in US on the eve of Computer Electronics Show, which begins today in Las Vegas, Nokia has launched much awaited Asha range of dual sim smartphone models 200 & 300.
The phones – Nokia Asha 200, Asha 300 and Nokia X2-02 are aimed at attracting younger generation, equipped with 1 GHz processor, Nokia India Director-South Markets T S Sridhar said at the launch. Nokia Asha 200 and Nokia X2-02 are priced Rs. 4,349 /- and Rs. 3,599 /- respectively. The phones offer multiple SIM management that allows the user to personalise upto five SIM cards and easy swap option without having to turn off the phone or remove the battery.
Nokia Asha 200, is the first QWERTY based dual sim device and comes with a two mega pixel camera. All the phones are equipped with in-built Nokia browser. The Nokia Asha 300 is a music phone, priced at Rs. 7,409 /- comes with a five megapixel camera and also offers connectivity to social networking sites.
Nokia cannot afford to let the opportunity slip from its hands of dual sim phone segment. Of late, lot of other suppliers especially Chinese vendors have been successful in promoting their dual sim phones. Nokia, being the earlier leader of handsets in India, was slow to penetrate this segment and hopefully with the launch of its Asha range of models, it will recapture the lost ground.
Asha means Hope and Nokia definitely hopes that its recent launches will prove successful in emerging markets.
