Besides five smartphones and one smartband, Acer is going to Computex with a bang with one new tablet also. The Acer Iconia Tab 8 tablet has also been announced and like other five smartphones and smartband, this device shall also start shipping in the third quarter of this year. Acer has also not revealed the price of this tablet.
The Acer Iconia Tab 8 runs Android 4.4 KitKat and features an 8-inch 1920×1200 Full HD display with IPS and Zero Air Gap technologies. It is powered by an Intel Atom Z3745 quad-core processor, coupled with a 2GB of RAM and shall be vailable in two storage variants – 16GB and 32GB. This storage will be further expandable via microSD card. The Iconia Tab 8 is equipped with a 5-megapixel rear camera, and a 2-megapixel front camera. For connectivity, this tablet supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Micro-USB. This tablet has a powerful battery(unspecified) which is claimed to have 7.5 (2) hours life when viewing video.
This tablet is just 8.5 mm thin and weighs 360 grams. The Iconia Tab 8 also sports a sleek and elegant design with a sophisticated metallic silver rear cover and slim profile that fits comfortably in one hand. The Iconia Tab 8’s display also features an anti-fingerprint coating that reduces messy fingerprints, making it much easier to clean and read, and is equipped with dual speakers for delivering a surround sound effect with clearer and more life-like audio.
The Acer Iconia Tab 8 features Acer Touch WakeApp which lets users quickly and easily wake up the Iconia Tab 8 with a simple touch gesture. The Acer Iconia Tab 8 can be seamlessly integrated with other Acer PCs for accessing data anytime, anywhere through Build Your Own Cloud (BYOC). BYOC enables users to build their own cloud on their devices, such as music, photos and other types of content on a reliable and secure platform with convenient access to their information and content anytime, anywhere.
