Acer has launched in India its 7-inch budget tablet – Iconia B1 – at a price of Rs 7,999. This tablet was showcased in just concluded CES in Las Vegas.
The Acer Iconia B1 sports a 7-inch display with 1024×600 resolution, and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. The Iconia B1 tablet features 8GB of internal storage, which can expanded upto 32GB via the microSD slot. This tablet runs Google’s Android 4.1 OS (Jelly Bean), and weighs 320g.
It also sports a front facing camera on the top right corner that enables users to seamlessly connect video calls. Connectivity options on the Acer Iconia B1 include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and Micro-USB.
Announcing the launch, Mr. S. Rajendran, Chief Marketing Officer, Acer India, said, “The tablet PC market in India has been one of the fastest growing segments and has potential to grow even further in 2013. As a global leader, we are committed to introducing devices that follow high standards of quality and reliability. The Iconia B1 is a product that is geared to exceed consumer expectation while guaranteeing a wholesome experience.” The company claims, “The resolution is at least 60 pr cent better than the peer offerings, hence, enhancing user experience while watching videos, e-reading, web browsing and playing games on the move.”
The price of this tablet appears to be quite attractive keeping in view of the fact that this device runs Android Jelly Bean and has brand name of Acer attached to it. This tablet will definitely be a good value for money and will give tough competition to Google’s Nexus 7, at this price point.
