The leading PC vendors, Acer India has jumped into smartphone arena and launched today two smartphones under the Acer Liquid Z Series – the Liquid Z530 and Liquid Z630s. The Acer Liquid Z530 is priced at Rs. 6,999 and will go on sale on Flipkart.com from today whereas the Z630s has a price tag of Rs. 10,999 and will also be sold by Flipkart via flash sale. The registration for Z630s will start on Flipkart from midnight and the sale will begin on 12th November.
The Liquid Z530 and Z630s have many identical features as far as its front and rear cameras are concerned, connectivity feeatures and display features. Both the phones support Dual SIM and are compatible with 4G LTE networks in India. Both the phones run on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. Both the phones have different sizes of screen and processor and RAM sizes and battery capacities also differ, which are explained in the following paragraphs.
The Liquid Z530 sports a 5 inch HD IPS display with resolution of 720×1280. It is Powered by the 64-bit, quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6735 processor combined with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expandedf upto 32GB via microSD card.
This phone mesures 144×70.3×8.9mm and its weight is 145 grams with battery. It is packed with a 2420mAh battery.
The Liquid Z630s is more powerful smartphone and flaunts a 5.5 inch HD IPS display with 720×1280 pixels resolution. It is powered by an octa-core, 64 bit,MediaTek MT6735 processor clocked at 1.3GHz coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be extended further with microSD card support.
This phone measures 156.3×77.5×8.9mm and its weight is 165 grams. It gets its juice from massive 4000mAh battery.
As far as similarities of both the phones are concerned, the Liquid Z530 and Z630s are equipped with an 8-megapixel rear and front cameras, and the front camera of both the phone have a wide-angle lens, and also supports 1080p video recording. For connectivity, both the phones offer options of 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Bluetooth 4.0 etc.
In both the phones , key apps have been designed as “Float Apps” which take up only a portion of the screen so users can see and interact with the desktop below. This feature is available for maps, browser, notes, calendar and more, along with “Float Caller” which lets an incoming call pop up as a mini window for the user to choose whether to answer or reply with quick messages without interrupting the current session completely. Besides this, the users can open screen within screen on the display of these phones for performing various tasks simultaneously and these phones can be used as PCs.
The Liquid Z630s is also equipped with AcerEXTEND which connects wirelessly to a compatible laptop or PC and lets you view the phone’s home screen in a phone-shaped emulator box on the computer.
Both the phones have HD IPS screen with Zero Air Gap to ensure bright rendering of color. Both the phones incorporates DTS Studio Sound for giving high-quality audio performance for music and movies.
Both the above smartphones will be manufactured in India at the company’s new facility in Pondicherry and the production will start in the month of December.
Announcing the launch of the smartphones in India, S.T. Liew, President, Smart Products Business Group, Acer Inc said, “Keeping in par with the Indian government’s Make-in-India initiative, we are excited to announce that these smartphones will be manufactured locally in India. The plant will be operational by December 2015 and will have production capacity of over 1 lakh phones per month. As the demand for the smartphones increase, the investment and production capacity of the plant will also be scaled up appropriately”.
