Alcatel Idol 4, which was unveiled in MWC in 2016 and which is successir of Ido 3, has been launched today in India with a VR headset. Priced at Rs. 16,999, this will be available in Gold, Dark Gray and Metal Silver colors exclusviely on Flipkart. To start with, this phone will be available initially with Gold color only and the remaining colors will arrive later. The smartphone packaging consist of a pair of VR headset and JBL in-ear headphones. This phone has metal body with glass cover on the front panel and on the back.
One of the USP of this phone is its Boom Key which enables the users to perform various functions with this dedicated button on the right hand side of the phone. With this you can shoot photos even when in standby mode. With Boom Key, you can play with your videos and by pressing the Boom Key it will immediately broadcast the video live. When listening to music, the Boom My music enhances the bass, loudness and clarity of the sound for an immersive audio experience. Even when you are playing slow games, you can enhance the speed with Boom feature.
The other highlights of the Idol 4 is its enriched audio capabilities. It is equipped with a pair of 3.6-watt multi-directional speakers with Hi-Fi surround-sound for the headset. It is supported by Waves audio technology and comes with in-box JBL headphones for outstanding audio quality. This phone is reversible in three ways. The interface rights itself no matter if the users picks it up right side up or upside down as demonstrated during the launch event. The stereo sound is always on the correct side, even when the phone is flipped because the speaker grille are strategically placed which ensures that sound is unobstructed, whether the phone is facing up or turned over.
On the hardware front, this phone features a 5.2-inch full-HD (1920×1080 pixels) display. Under the hood is Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor paired with 3GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be extended upto 512GB via microSD card.
This phone is equipped with a 13MP auto-focus rear camera (0.1-0.3 seconds), f/2.0 aperture, Dual-tone LED flash, and Electronic Image Stabilisation for shooting videos and capability for shooting 360 degree photos. For selfies their is 84-degree wide-angle 8MP camera with LED flash.
The phone is packed with a 2,610mAh battery and QuickCharge 2.0 support. It offers connectivity options of hybrid Dual SIM (nano+nano/microSD), 4G LTE, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, USB OTG and Wi-Fi 802.11n. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with Alcatel’s custom UI on top.
This is light weight phone having dimensions of 147×72.5×7.1mm and its weight is just 135 grams. It can be easily navigated with single hand.
