Galaxy Ace has been one of the successful android devices in Samsung’s arsenal and respecting that, Samsung has pushed an OS update for Galaxy Ace S5830I. This update takes forward the installed android os to version 2.3.6 i.e Gingerbread.
Since it is a major OS update therefore you’ll have to get it from KIES itself, updating Over The Air (OTA) won’t be possible. As far as the change log is concerned, there’s no official word from Samsung about it as of now but it being an Android specific update, I don’t think people need to be told about the “awesomeness” that Gingerbread brings in to the mobile phone’s!
On a side note, I have heard and read Galaxy Ace users complaining about the issues that they faced concerning Wifi connectivity, dropped network connections, etc, I believe Samsung did focus on these issues and made the necessary fixes.
So, go ahead, update your Galaxy Ace to Android 2.3.6 (same version as that of Galaxy S II) and enjoy the new Gingerbread functionality on your mobile phone!
