After much speculation and long wait, Apple has finally launched the fourth generation mini iPad in India. This mini tablet from Apple is now available at authorised Apple resellers for a starting price of Rs 21,900.
The 16 GB iPad mini Wi-Fi only version is available for Rs 21,900, while the 32 GB and 64 GB versions are priced at Rs 27,900 and Rs 33,900, respectively. The iPad mini Wi-Fi + cellular version is available for Rs 29,900 for the 16 GB version, and the 32 GB version is priced at Rs 35,900. The high-end 64 GB iPad mini Wi-Fi + cellular version will cost Rs 41,900.
The fourth generation iPad is expected to be available at Rs. 31,900 for the 16 GB Wi-Fi, and Rs. 37,900 for 32 GB and Rs. 43,900 for 64 GB. The full pricing for fourth generation iPad with cellular connectivity, which uses a micro SIM, is as follows: 39,900 (16 GB), Rs. 45,900 (32 GB) and Rs. 51,900 (64 GB).
Apple introduced the iPad mini and the fourth generation iPad in US on October 23rd. The iPad mini features a 7.9-inch 1024×768 display, FaceTime HD and iSight cameras, ultrafast wireless performance and 10 hours of battery life. The mini iPad is now 23 percent thinner and 53 percent lighter than the third generation iPad. The new fourth generation iPad features a 9.7-inch Retina display, new Apple-designed A6X chip, FaceTime HD camera and ultrafast wireless performance with same 10 hours of battery life.
The iPad mini starting at Rs 21,900 (16GB), will compete directly with the Nexus 7 and the Galaxy Tab 2 (310), both of which are priced slightly below Rs 20,000. Now, those Apple lovers, who can’t afford expensive regular 4th generation iPad, can opt for mini iPad, which has almost all the features and main difference is in screen size.
